A flat conical saucer shade with an opal diffuser sits above a dark walnut accent, lit by an integrated LED strip. The wood softens a mid-century metal outline, and the wide shade spreads warm light over a dining table.

Choose a 40cm or 60cm shade, in matte black or aged gold metal. The 14W LED gives 1,200 lumens of 2700K light and is dimmable. The cable can hang up to 300cm.

Switch the light off and let it cool before cleaning. Dust gently with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid water, sprays and cleaning products, which can mark metal finishes, wood, fabric, glass and stone.

Natural materials such as alabaster, marble, travertine, wood and rattan vary in colour and pattern, so no two pieces are exactly alike.

Ceiling, wall and outdoor lights that are wired into the mains should be installed by a qualified electrician, in line with UK wiring regulations.

If your light takes a bulb, always switch off the power before fitting or changing it, and never exceed the maximum wattage stated for your light. A warm white LED bulb (2700K to 3000K) gives a soft, warm glow. Lights with a built-in LED have no bulb to change, and cordless lamps simply recharge by USB.
