A classic coolie shade of hand-spun steel in yellow, made in Yorkshire, on an anodised aluminium holder. The shade spreads light downwards over a dining table, kitchen island or seating area, with a matte white glass bulb visible beneath.

The shade is 35cm across and 19cm tall, on a 3m cable with a 10cm canopy. It comes with a dim-to-warm LED bulb (15cm wide, 19cm tall) that shifts from 2800K to a warm 2000K as it dims, giving 680 lumens at CRI 95. The fitting is E26.

    Care

Switch the light off and let it cool before cleaning. Dust gently with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid water, sprays and cleaning products, which can mark metal finishes, wood, fabric, glass and stone.

Natural materials such as alabaster, marble, travertine, wood and rattan vary in colour and pattern, so no two pieces are exactly alike.

    Fitting & bulbs

Ceiling, wall and outdoor lights that are wired into the mains should be installed by a qualified electrician, in line with UK wiring regulations.

If your light takes a bulb, always switch off the power before fitting or changing it, and never exceed the maximum wattage stated for your light. A warm white LED bulb (2700K to 3000K) gives a soft, warm glow. Lights with a built-in LED have no bulb to change, and cordless lamps simply recharge by USB.
