A drum of natural travertine with a wooden top sits close to the ceiling, its open base giving soft, even light. The stone's natural pores and texture give it a warm, organic feel; small holes and marks are normal for travertine.

Choose 30cm (36W, 1,600 lm, about 2.8kg), 43cm (48W, 1,800 lm, about 4.8kg) or 55cm (72W, 2,400 lm, about 7.7kg), with warm white or dimmable light. The LED is built in and not replaceable.

Switch the light off and let it cool before cleaning. Dust gently with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid water, sprays and cleaning products, which can mark metal finishes, wood, fabric, glass and stone.

Natural materials such as alabaster, marble, travertine, wood and rattan vary in colour and pattern, so no two pieces are exactly alike.

Ceiling, wall and outdoor lights that are wired into the mains should be installed by a qualified electrician, in line with UK wiring regulations.

If your light takes a bulb, always switch off the power before fitting or changing it, and never exceed the maximum wattage stated for your light. A warm white LED bulb (2700K to 3000K) gives a soft, warm glow. Lights with a built-in LED have no bulb to change, and cordless lamps simply recharge by USB.
